That Israel provoked it. People forget that 10000+ missiles and mortar rounds have been launched from Gaza since 2001.

We did. For example, allowing in international aid, withdrawing from Gaza, signing the Oslo accords, releasing prisnoners. How did Hamas respond?

This should be decided by the Palestinian Authority. Previously, there have been bloody clashes between PA and Hamas forces.

Since Hamas took control over Gaza in 2007, Government installations were turned into Hamas military bases. Today, all Hamas activity is done from Police stations. See: http://dover.idf.il/IDF/English/News/the_Front/08/12/2701.htm
Regarding the issue of police stations as military targets: In most dictatorships, such as that run by Hamas in the Gaza, the police are just one tool of the dictator. The Hamas police are among the most heavily armed “police” in the world and serve solely as a uniformed adjunct to the Hamas militia force.
Police stations are always military targets. You are just as dead shot by a “policeman” as by a militia fighter or a soldier.

Hey – you are all ppl asking about why Israel dont try ? and why Israel dont consider making an effort to finish the atect ? Why no one is asking about how the isrealy ppl feeling here ? How is it to live under bombs atects for years ? How is it to live in a country that we were begging to the govermant to do something for us ? And how can it posibly be that an terror organisation is siting in the middle of gaza and fire bomb all over Israel ? ? ? what would your goverment do about it or how would you feel that you have only 10 – 30 sec to save your life b4 the bomb will fall ?
