Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nation’s, Dan Gillerman, will soon finish his posting in New York. This past weekend, the New York Times Magazine published an interview in which the ambassador analyzed some of his accomplishments and shared some of his diplomativ wisdom. His interview with Newsweek discusses Israel’s position in some of the more delicate Middle East issues, especially regarding Iran’s nuclear program.

Mr Dan Gillerman has given yeoman service to the government and people of Israel. He could always be depended upon to get to the heart of any matter and give the world the facts about anything concerning Israel and her place in the world.I particularly looked forward to his sound bites.I want to thank Mr Gillerman for keeping this friend of Israel so very well informed and I wish he and his family the very best in the future.
Dear Mr Gillerman,
Shalom. As one among many at the meeting titled ‘Paths to Peace’ last night, I was grateful for your contribution but saddened that no reference was made to G-D’s covenant, through Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, regarding your people and the Land evidenced, if evidence was needed, by your miraculous return to the Land and your peoples’ amazing creativity, industry and care.
A ‘two-state’ plan runs counter to your nation’s inheritance and to G-D’s will (eg Ezekiel 36.1-15 among many scriptures). G-D’s intent is that you should possess the Land and, in so doing, care for the poor, the sojourner and the stranger (viz Leviticus 25.35-38).
May you be bold and courageous standing against the increasing pressures, trusting in your G-D.
