The New York JCRC planted a field of some 4,200 balloons across the street from UN headquarters on Thursday, in a display meant to call international attention to the intolerable situation in the Israeli city of Sderot and its surrounding communities.
The red balloons were meant to represent the thousands of rockets, fired from the Gaza Strip, that have struck Sderot since Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza in September 2005. Sderot and the surrounding area have been under near-constant bombardment, suffering thousands of strikes by Qassam rockets, thousands of mortar shells, and recently an Iranian-made Katyusha (”Grad”) rocket.
The plight of Sderot’s citizens has gone largely unnoticed by the international media — and hence the international community — even as the city absorbs more and more projectiles fired from Gaza. It is hoped that international pressure can help stop the attacks that have damaged homes, hospitals and schools and force children to have class in bomb shelters.
Absurd and the IDF is where? The counter intelligence is doing what? Who is in charge of the IDF now days? The same technocrats who executed the last battle against the Iranian proxies in Lebanon (put the toes in and see if the water is hot take them out do it again, what a joke).
A strong pre-emptive hand is what always kept Israel safe did Shin Bet go on a group tour to Bali on Holiday? I see, supposedly, they dont know where the rockets are fired from and I suppose carpet bombing as soon as a close range rocket alit has not been taught in the artillery school 101.
Frankly, I am tired of hearing the poor mouthing of the Government and the Military why don’t you collectively get off your asses and protect the whole country not just the west bank settlements (the Brooklyn alya) or decedents of eastern Jews are still an underclass in Israel?

To be fair the rockets are short range but the area is well known, bulldoze a culled out area create a no mans zone watch for suspicious activity and making it rain on a preemptive basis daily this doesn’t take much does it? Setting a few snipers with 50 caliber single shot rifles doesn’t take much, but to use your head now there is an expensive proposition.
