Recently, the Israeli city Sderot has been attacked with dozens of deadly missiles, launched with impunity by the terrorist group Hamas. It’s a shame that the international media has yet to cover these attacks with any seriousness. If Lisbon, London, or Lyon were attacked day-in and day-out with 80 pound projectiles packed with explosives designed to kill, maim, and destroy innocent civilians the story would be plastered across every front page and every TV screen in the world. Unfortunately, this story has only received coverage when Israel decides to take appropriate defensive actions and target the people launching these missiles. The world ignores the bombing of Sderot homes, schools, nurseries, kindergartens, synagogues, and parks at its own peril. If we allow terrorists to launch missiles with impunity at an Israeli city today, it will only be a matter of time that terrorists will begin launching missiles at other, more ‘tele-visible’ cities, tomorrow.
With this in mind we took a few minutes this morning to sit down with our Ambassador here in NY to get his take on the current situation in Sderot, and what Israel’s position is regarding the ongoing attacks.

As an Orthodox Jew I wonder what the long-term rational goal is of the Zionists. Is it to reduce the Palestinians to reservations, expel them or exterminate them? In the meantime Zionists want to be able to do everything they want with their bravado and expect the Palestinians to stay home and recite psalms all day. The Zionists have one standard for themselves, and a much higher standard for the Palestinians. But of course Zionism is not Judaism and Judaism is not Zionism!
The truth must be told to the world. Israel must defend itself form these attacks. This is comparable to the London bombings in WWII, yet the world perceives Israel as being the wrong. How can this be?
Why don’t the Palestinians have a right to defend themselves? They don’t have F16 fighter jets. They don’t have helicopter gunships. So they are supposed to stay home and recite tehillim all day? After what they went through since 1948? It’s preposterous logic. Zionists have all the money, all the lobbies, all the media, all the weapons, all the rabbis. And they stil act like they are the victim after conquering Palestine, committing ethnic cleansing and establishing their ethnocracy. And they call this “Jewish” behavior?!
Dave, go study your history. Arab violence against Jews predates the modern State. There were riots against the Jews, and deaths of many Jews, without provocation by Arabs dating back to the early twentieth century and even earlier. It goes back to when Israel was called Palestine.
Since Israel was originally called Palestine, the Israelis are the original Palestinians. Todays usurpers of that title are descended from nomadic people that have been barred from permanent home in neighboring Arab countries by their Arab brothers.
So using your terms, Yes, Israel has a right to defend itself from terrorists.
Also in your history lesson, you will see that time and time again, the Arabs have been offered land. In the original proposal for the modern State of Israel, the Arabs were offered the larger portion. They turned it down because they wanted it all, without a modern Israel. That is part of the seed of the current strife.
I am not interested in the tired, worn out cliches. Zionists invaded the land, kicked out 2/3 of the Palestinians and established their anti-Jewish ethnocracy. Zionists always engage in diversion instead of the substance. Pathetic, absolutely pathetic…

Arab violence against Jews has been going on long before there was an occupation, long before there was a refugee problem — indeed, long before there was a political Zionist movement. That does not mean it has to go on forever. No one is born a bigot. Indeed, all the Arab dictatorships spend a tremendous amount of effort on propaganda intended to foster and maintain anti-Jewish bigotry.

Dave, you sound like Neturei Karta. The truth is it is the world which holds Israel - and the Jews, mind you - to a higher standard. We just expect the so-called ‘palestinians’ to behave like normal people! As a Jew you should know that HaShem promised us this Land (when we should come back is a point of dissension among some Jews) but it is Eretz Yisrael nonetheless! And also as a Jew you should support your fellow Jews no matter where they live!! It is not the ‘occupation’ - it is our being here! Yes, I kknow you are going to say how everything was rosy when Jews and Arabs lived here together under Turkish rule! But you, my friend, are in the minority concerning our right to come back to our Homeland and establish a government. And, yes, I know you believe that the Land should be ruled by Torah laws. In that you are no different than most Muslims who want all Muslims to be ruled by Shari’a law. But, again, you are in the minority. Face the situation as it is today - Jews are being attacked for no other reason than they exist!! Are you going to be part of the problem or part of the solution??
